The winners exhibited significantly lower than average energy consumption for their respective product categories and offer a variety of environmentally friendly features to help users reduce their overall environmental impact.
After analyzing the results for the top performers in a range of printer and MFP categories, BLI gave Winter 2016 Outstanding Achievement awards to the following products:

With an estimated annual energy consumption about 49% lower than average, the 22-ppm Brother MFC-J5720DW is one of the few all-in-one ink devices to win a BLI Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency award. In fact, it is only the third device in its group to win such an honor since BLI began energy testing. It also offers faster than average recovery times from sleep mode to help users maintain productivity. The MFC-J5720DW shares this award with the MFC-J5920DW, which uses the same engine.

The 26-ppm Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C250iF exhibited substantially lower than average estimated annual energy consumption when compared with competitive A4 color MFPs tested, and comes with several key waste-saving features such as job review mode, blank-page removal and auto-color mode. The unit also produced faster than average recovery times from sleep mode during daily use, helping users to maintain productivity without sacrificing energy efficiency.

Continuing Ricoh’s reputation for producing energy-efficient devices, the Ricoh SP 4510SF and the Ricoh MP C306 have both earned energy efficiency awards from BLI for their excellent performances while running BLI’s real-world environmental job stream test. While the SP 4510SF’s estimated annual energy consumption was about 41% lower than average when compared with competitive A4 monochrome MFPs in the midsize workgroup segment, the MP C306’s estimated annual energy consumption was 57% lower than average, making it among the lowest of A4 color MFPs in the midsize workgroup category.
