Buyers Laboratory's facility and highly experienced team of imaging professionals is available to design and perform a wide variety of individualized product tests designed to meet the needs of purchasers, sellers and manufacturers of imaging equipment that require the kind of independent validation, authentication and insight that only BLI can provide. Among the products that BLI's experts can “custom test” are:

Product types: Monochrome and color multifunctional devices, copiers, fax machines, impact printers and non-impact printers (laser, ink-jet, LED and solid ink). Tests conducted: Performance testing that includes evaluations of reliability; copy and print productivity/efficiency; multitasking capabilities; ease of use; ease of maintenance; copy and print image quality; consumable yields; raster times; throughput capabilities; print drivers; administrative utilities; networking/connectivity; web-based administration; copy, fax, print and scan functionality; special features; software compatibility; ease of installation/setup; and competitive performance comparisons.

Tests conducted: Evaluations of feature sets, ease of installation and setup, design/ease of use of print drivers (PostScript, PCL and GDI), color and monochrome image quality, multitasking, fax capabilities, scan capabilities, print capabilities, media handling and device management utilities, raster times/print productivity/efficiency, networking (TCP/IP and SMB) and administrative utilities (Web user interface, status monitoring applications, etc.).

Product types: Virgin and recycled bond papers, labels, transparencies, forms paper, envelopes and specialty papers for ink-jet and color devices. Tests conducted: Runnability, dusting, curl, image permanence, image bleed/smudging/smearing, wicking, double-sheeting, misfeeding and image quality.

Product types: Photoconductors and new and remanufactured toner cartridges for multifunctional products, printers, copiers and fax machines; ink-jet cartridges and solid ink sticks. Tests conducted: Image quality, image permanence/transference, wicking, dry time, yield and reliability.
