Xerox, Canon and Toshiba MFPs Earn Summer 2012 BLI A3 Monochrome “Picks”

July 18, 2012 – Hackensack (NJ) – Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging products and solutions, today announced its Summer 2012 “Pick” awards honoring outstanding monochrome A3 MFPs from Xerox, Toshiba and Canon. Xerox Scores Triple Play for Superior Ease of Use and Great Feature Set
Three Xerox WorkCentre MFPs (the WorkCentre 5325, 5330 and 5335) scored Summer 2012 BLI “Pick” Awards in their respective speed ranges, establishing these models as the new leaders of the pack for monochrome MFPs from 21 to 40 ppm.

“We were impressed by the WorkCentre 5300 Series’ excellent ease of use, very good image quality and superior feature set,” said Lynn Nannariello, BLI’s assistant managing editor. “And, considering they’re priced lower than average when comparably equipped, these models offer value that’s hard to beat.”

BLI gave the WorkCentre 5325, 5330 and 5335 top marks for printed text and halftone range, and for categories including multitasking, feedback to workstations, ease of network setup, print drivers and tested toner yield. BLI also noted that all three devices proved faster than average in most scanning tests.

Toshiba e-STUDIO456 and e-STUDIO856 Land “Picks” in Mid- and High-Speed Categories
Toshiba Americas Business Solutions, Inc. earned Summer 2012 “Pick” Awards for the 45-ppm e-STUDIO456, as “Outstanding 41- to 50-ppm A3 Monochrome MFP,” and the 85-ppm e-STUDIO856, as “Outstanding 81- to 90-ppm Monochrome MFP.”

“In addition to a superb reliability performance over the course of 150,000 impressions, the e-STUDIO456 turned in a solid productivity showing, especially when printing and copying sets in duplex mode,” said George Mikolay, BLI senior product editor for A3/Copier MFPs. “Add in that it’s very easy to use, with an intuitive control panel and the capability to customize the interface by user, and it’s clear why the e-STUDIO456 stands out from the other contenders in its speed range.”

“When you need a productive, reliable workhorse, that’s also easy to use, Toshiba’s e-STUDIO856 fits the bill,” noted Daria Hoffman, BLI’s managing editor, explaining that the e-STUDIO856 was a standout performer for its ability to handle even the heaviest workflow without a glitch. “Printed image quality was very good in every category we looked at, which is a major accomplishment,” added Hoffman.

“We are honored that the e-STUDIO456 has received BLI’s top recognition in the mid-speed monochrome MFP category for delivering exceptional reliability and ease of use, and high-end features,” said Joseph Contreras, director of products and solutions marketing for Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. “Our second award for the e-STUDIO856 in the high-speed category reveals its performance innovations, Toshiba’s patented self-encrypting drive technology, plus high duty cycle, which makes the model ideal for large enterprise workgroups.”

Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051 Named BLI’s “Pick” for Value, Feature Set and Scanning
Proving highly reliable in BLI lab tests, the Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051 earned a Summer 2012 BLI “Pick” as “Outstanding 51- to 60-ppm A3 Monochrome MFP.”

“We really like the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051’s control panel design,” said Hoffman, “especially the integrated Quick Menu for very easy customization. And this device’s feature-rich scan function leads the industry for ease of use and functionality.”

Other strengths of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051 cited by BLI include very small compressed color file sizes, fast booklet print and copy speeds, simple paper and toner replacement procedures and a price substantially lower than average among comparably equipped MFPs.
