New ENERGY STAR® for Toshiba MFPS

5/30/2007
The convergence of copying, printing, faxing and scanning has called for new ENERGY STAR® programme requirements.

Neuss, March 2007 – Toshiba Tec has adapted its range of multifunctional products to fully meet the new requirements of the ENERGY STAR® Programme which become effective on 1 April 2007. The recently renewed programme, which is expected to yield 30 TWh electricity savings in the EU over the next three years (the approximate equivalent of the electricity demand in Hungary), has subsumed printers, copiers, faxes and scanners under the heading “imaging equipment” to account for the convergence of copy, print, fax and scan functions in modern machines.

Toshiba has adapted its workplace and team systems, the e-STUDIO120, e-STUDIO151/151D and the A3 capable e-STUDIO 166/206 and e-STUDIO167/207/237 as well as the fax e-STUDIO170F. The required changes have also been made to the departmental systems, the e-STUDIO232/ 282 and e-STUDIO352/452 and the colour capable e-STUDIO281c, e-STUDIO351c and e-STUDIO451c. Toshiba’s high volume systems – e-STUDIO600/720/850 – have always offered high volume and high speed at attractively low running costs. These have been further reduced with the adaptations under the renewed ENERGY STAR® Programme. The amazing productivity and stunning colour quality of the Toshiba e-STUDIO2500c/3500c/3510c colour systems will now be available at even lower electricity costs. The only provision with regard to lower energy costs, of course, is that users keep the default values of the machines.

In addition to further lowering the running costs of its products, Toshiba, in complying with the new requirements of the ENERGY STAR® Programme, contributes to optimise energy efficiency and mitigate climate change.
