IKON Recognized for Excellence in Sales and Service in the High-Volume Document Production Space

3/27/2006
MALVERN, Pa. March 27, 2006 -- IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today announced that the company achieved a major milestone in its strategic relationship with Canon U.S.A., the number one brand leader in color and black-and-white copiers in the U.S. in 2005. In 2005, IKON again represented a majority share of Canon's high-volume, segment six monochrome production printing systems business in North America.

"IKON is by far our largest independent channel partner in the high-volume, segment six environment with placements of the Canon imageRUNNER 110, Pro 125VP and Pro 150VP systems," said Tod D. Pike, senior vice president and general manager, Sales, Marketing and Administration for Canon U.S.A.'s Imaging Systems Group. "IKON's considerable experience in the production environment, coupled with the company's expertise in servicing production-level systems, has enabled us to grow our collective share in the high-volume market by double digits over the past six years."

IKON has partnered with Canon to sell the company's high-volume solutions since Canon entered the market in 2000. IKON's robust production portfolio includes the Canon imageRUNNER 110, the Canon imageRUNNER Pro 125VP and the Canon imageRUNNER Pro 150VP, as well as light production systems from both Canon and Ricoh and IKON-branded mid-production systems from Konica Minolta.

IKON also works closely with Kodak to bring the Canon imageRUNNER segment six series to market. "IKON's strategic, long-term relationship with Canon has enabled us to collectively thrive and grow share in the competitive high-volume environment," said Venkat Purushotham, General Manager Digital Print Solutions and VP Graphic Communications Group, Kodak. "IKON brings a strong depth of experience in this market, along with the technical and professional services support that today's high-volume customers require."

In addition to high-volume equipment, IKON also partners with Kodak to deliver and support the IKON PowerPro(TM) 500 print controller for the IKON CPP(TM) 500, IKON's award-winning 50 page-per-minute color device. Other leading production controllers from IKON include IKON PowerPress(TM), which networks up to 12 copy/print systems, and IKON PowerPort(TM), which automatically converts Xerox LCDS and IBM data streams to industry standard PostScript for printing on network printers without costly reprogramming. IKON can also integrate Objectif Lune's PlanetPress software with its production systems to address variable data printing needs.

"When it comes to document efficiency in the production environment, IKON has a winning value proposition for today's quick print shops, data centers, central reprographics departments and other high-volume printers," said Cathy L. Lewis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for IKON. "Our robust portfolio includes solutions from industry-leaders like Canon and Kodak, and all of our solutions are backed by our team of highly trained and tenured service professionals and analysts."
