Kofax, the leading provider of document driven business process automation solutions, announced
Kofax Desktop 2.0, a new release of its software for individual users that makes scanning a document as easy as printing by seamlessly embedding such capabilities within Microsoft Office 2007 applications. Release 2.0 increases scanning functionality and ease of use by adding full text optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities, allowing images to be exported as searchable PDF files and adding new language versions.
“Kofax Desktop 2.0 enables individual users to scan documents with even greater speed, efficiency and ease,” said Jim Nicol, Executive Vice President of Products at Kofax. “This new release reinforces our commitment to serve the capture spectrum of desktop to enterprise needs and broadens the software’s appeal with eight new language versions.”
Kofax Desktop 2.0 adds full text optical character recognition (OCR) capabilities and allows images to be exported as searchable PDF files. The software also offers the ability to export color images in compressed PDF files that are smaller than their bi-tonal images, thereby increasing scanning efficiency and speed through a system or network.
The new release also significantly expands Kofax Desktop’s global market reach with the addition of eight new language versions, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
Kofax Desktop 2.0 is now available as a download at
www.kofax.com for a free 30 day trail and $49.00 (U.S.) for a fully functioning version.
