Buyers Lab Names KODAK Capture Pro 3.1 as Winter 2012 “Pick” Award Winner
January 12, 2012

Hackensack, NJ – Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI), the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging hardware and software, today announced its Winter 2012 “Pick” awards honoring the top-performing solutions evaluated in BLI's lab during the previous six months. KODAK Capture Pro 3.1, from Eastman Kodak Company, was named “Outstanding Production Scan Solution” by the editors of BLI.

“Documents and the data they contain are the lifeblood of any organization,” said Lisa Reider, BLI’s senior product editor for scanners. “But paper documents such as forms and invoices can be a roadblock to efficient information flow. KODAK Capture Pro allows users to transform paper documents into electronic information for easy management, storage and retrieval.”

KODAK Capture Pro, which is available in both a standalone desktop version and a Network Edition for shared deployment, is a data capture and indexing solution designed to meet the capture needs of most document-intensive scanning environments. The solution works with any Kodak scanner and most third-party scanners to digitize and route scanned hard copies and offers a wide range of features, such as indexing, zonal OCR, batch processing and the ability to configure and save frequently used job settings. Capture Pro 3.1 also features Kodak’s Intelligent Quality Control capability, which automatically identifies challenging scans and allows the user to re-process the image, even if the hard copy is no longer available. In addition, version 3.1’s integration with Microsoft SharePoint has improved thanks to an integration wizard that allows customers to import existing SharePoint Server library column definitions directly into Capture Pro.

“The BLI ‘Pick’ award marks a significant achievement for Kodak’s ability to provide its customers and partners with a versatile, powerful and more efficient digital capture and delivery solution for documents and data,” said Robert Bijster Kodak’s worldwide director for software marketing and commercialization, document imaging, at Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “This honor validates Kodak’s commitment to providing the industry with practical innovations that help enterprise organizations adopt automated, data-driven processes.”
