Award-Winning Konica Minolta MFPs Team Up with 5-Star NSi Workflow Platform
What do you get when you combine award-winning Konica Minolta MFPs and a 5-star solution like NSi AutoStore 5.0? A perfect match for Konica Minolta dealers and their customers who need to move beyond basic scan capture and routing. With the availability of the new Konica Minolta MFP 2.0 workflow component, users of MFPs employing Konica Minolta’s bizhub Extended Solutions Technology (bEST) open platform can route scanned documents directly into leading line-of-business applications, content management systems such as Microsoft SharePoint, and even online “cloud” services like Google Apps—all right from the control panel of the MFP.
Developed by Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), the workflow component can be embedded in any Konica Minolta MFP that supports the company’s Open API platform. These include the bizhub C452, bizhub C552/C552DS and bizhub C652/C652DS series, which were BLI Summer 2010 “Pick” winners. The bizhub C452 stood out in the 41- to 50 ppm color A3 class for its flawless reliability on BLI’s 150,000-impression durability test—the best of any business color model in its speed range tested since 2005. The bizhub C552 was a “Pick” winner in the 51- to 60-ppm color A3 class thanks to its exceptional image quality and outstanding reliability in BLI’s 200,000-impression durability test (no service calls and just 3 misfeeds). The bizhub C652/C652DS were “Pick” winners among 61- to 70-ppm color A3 models thanks in large part to their high productivity and equally impressive reliability in BLI’s 250,000-impression durability test (with no service cals and just 4 misfeeds during that quarter-million page run).
Now, dealers can outfit these devices and the other compatible Konica Minolta models with the NSi AutoStore platform. AutoStore can help customers save time and money by transforming slow paper-based processes into efficient electronic workflows. In its in-depth Solutions Report—where AutoStore 5.0 earned 5 stars overall and similar marks in most categories evaluated—BLI found that the platform can deliver significant productivity and security benefits for general businesses as well as a broad range of verticals, including finance, legal, education, healthcare, government, manufacturing construction. The solution allows an entire workflow to be initiated quickly and easily, without requiring workers to perform many manual and time-consuming tasks. For example, AutoStore could be used to create a digital workflow for an accounting department to scan checks and invoices, enhance the image quality of the scanned images, perform OCR (through the integrated ABBYY recognition engine), assign indexing codes, categorize each invoice by the employee handling that account, save all the images as searchable PDF files and then send the invoices to the correct departments and the checks to a central database.
In addition to its standard scan-to-email, scan-to-fax and scan-to-folder capabilities, AutoStore 5.0 comes with more than 30 connectors to back-end applications and content management systems including those from Captaris, DocuWare EMC, Hyland, IBM, Interwoven, Laserfiche, Microsoft, and Worldox.
