Digiscribe's "Scan & Save" Program Benefits The Environment By Supporting The Nature Conservancy and Decreasing Paper Usage with Document Scanning and Document Management Services

Elmsford, NY -- Digiscribe, a Westchester-based document management company, is extending its "Scan & Save" program to do its part in preserving the environment. For the fourth year in a row, the company will donate money to The Nature Conservancy for every box of documents it scans through the end of this year.

According to the Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM), businesses use millions of tons of paper every year, with the average worker printing 10,000 pages per year, including 1,410 wasted pages. Add in the costs of manufacturing, transporting and storing that paper, and the environmental impact is even more staggering. A 2007 State of The Paper Industry Report by the Environmental Paper Network estimated that cutting office paper use by just 10% would be the equivalent of taking 280,000 cars off the road and reducing greenhouse gases by 1.6 million tons.
