KnowledgeLake Customer Midwest Operating Engineers Named Finalist for AIIM Best Practices Award
KnowledgeLake has announced that its customer, the Midwest Operating Engineers union, has been named a finalist for the AIIM Best Practices Award. AIIM is a community that provides education, research, and best practices to help organizations find, control, and optimize their information.

AIIM’s Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award was established to recognize excellence in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) field. According to AIIM, this award provides an exciting and unique way for end user organizations to share their ECM project implementations with their peers and for ECM solution providers to showcase the ROI that their solutions can achieve.

The honor was given to MOEITS, the union department that develops and manages technology which supports the union’s credit union, pharmacy, insurance and legal services and union grievance processes.
MOEITS has scanned millions of documents using KnowledgeLake Capture, the company’s batch scanning and indexing application, and has also employed KnowledgeLake Imaging for SharePoint, which adds additional automated indexing features, as well as comprehensive search, viewing and workflow capabilities.
"By using KnowledgeLake and Microsoft SharePoint, Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 achieved our original payback projection of less than five months, and we have found other savings that have improved our business processes," says Ron Borden, Executive Director of MOEITS. "For example, once we were able to use KnowledgeLake and SharePoint, we cut the labor grievance process to about 10 minutes per grievance, down from about 4.5 hours in the past," Borden says.

“We’re deeply honored that leading experts in the industry saw the value in this solution and we very much appreciate Ron Borden’s willingness to share the best practices he established for his membership with his peers in the information management community,” says Ron Cameron, President and co-founder of KnowledgeLake, Inc. “We also thank AIIM for creating this superb vehicle for honoring those who improve the practice of information management and are willing spread the benefits of this knowledge to others.”
