BLI Productivity Data
BLI’s productivity tests measure how an MFP performs under a wide range of conditions. Multiple test suites measure each unit’s speed in print, copy and scan modes in simplex and in duplex, when processing different types of commonly used office documents, in black and in color mode. BLI also reports on each product’s overall efficiency rate (in other words, how close it comes to performing at its advertised engine speed) and compares each tested unit’s productivity against the average for all tested machines in its market sector. A copier, printer or MFP that earns high marks from BLI in productivity will perform faster than competitive units for most types of jobs.
BLI also evaluates a device’s multitasking capabilities. A product with good multitasking capability will ensure that users are not wasting time waiting to program their jobs. In addition to evaluating whether a device can perform one function while another function is already in progress, BLI tests a device’s ability to handle multiple jobs that would be likely to stack up in a multi-user networked environment.
